About Us

Welcome to Peasant Cooking

Peasant Cooking was born out of a passion for good food and smart budgeting. We know firsthand how challenging it can be to balance grocery costs while still eating wholesome, delicious meals. That’s why we created a resource dedicated to helping others navigate food shopping and meal prep in a way that makes every dollar count. We’re here to prove that eating well on a budget isn’t just possible—it can be enjoyable and deeply rewarding.  We are teachers, stay at home moms, and friends, and we're here for you.

Yes, You Can Use All of It!

Instead of tossing out scraps, turn them into something useful! Save chicken bones from rotisserie chickens to make a rich, homemade stock for soups and stews. Keep carrot peels, onion skins, and other veggie scraps in the freezer to boil into a flavorful broth. Even stale bread can be transformed into croutons, breadcrumbs, or a delicious bread pudding. By making the most of everything you buy, you not only reduce waste but also get the most value out of every dollar spent.

You Can Do It!

Once you get the hang of it, using every ingredient to its full potential becomes second nature. With just a little planning and creativity, you’ll start to see every leftover and scrap as an opportunity rather than waste. The best part? You don’t have to do it alone! We’re here to guide you with simple tips, easy recipes, and practical strategies to help you make the most of your groceries—every step of the way.T
